We are pleased to share that our very own Ashley Franks-McGill has been elected Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Association of Moving Image Archivists (AMIA).
Ashley has developed and co-led AMIA’s Mentorship program since 2020. This program provides professional mentorship to both the AMIA Pathways Fellows and the AMIA membership at large - fostering meaningful relationships that empower mentors and mentees alike, while advancing the critical work of preserving our moving image heritage. Ashley and co-coordinator C. Diaz shared insights into this program at the 2024 AMIA Conference, and moderated a panel discussion among some of the more recent participants.
The AMIA Mentorship Program is a shining example of the importance of connection, care, and mutual learning in the professional world. Ashley’s dedication to mentorship and advocacy embodies the heart of AMIA’s mission, and we are so excited to see her take on a new leadership role guiding this organization into the future.
Congratulations on your board appointment, Ashley! Your passion and commitment to supporting others inspires us all, and we can’t wait to see the impact you’ll continue to make.
